The Melton Foot Clinic Story
Melton Foot Clinic has recently moved to new and improved premises! We can now be found on Mill Street, just off Burton Road in a much more spacious Clinic that conveniently has public parking, including disabled spaces, just across the road. We are located in the centre of the market town of Melton Mowbray and provide Chiropody/Podiatry services to the town and surrounding areas.
We aim to deliver a high-standard of care in a relaxed and friendly environment in order to maintain foot health for life. That is why our Podiatrists are fully insured members of the College of Podiatrists and registered members of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Our newly fitted Clinic is the perfect environment to take a load off your feet and treat them to some much needed attention. We can give advice and treatment for a wide range of foot problems and have extensive experience in dealing with Diabetic feet. Keep your eye on this page too for extended services that we hope to be bringing you in the near future as we hope to be joined by some new Practitioners.
Melton Foot Clinic is run by Mrs Katy Adkins and Mrs Sue Nourish whom together have extensive experience working with feet in the National Health Service (NHS) and Private sectors. Katy and Sue are both registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and hold certificates for the use of local analgesia and prescription only medicines. They are also fully insured members of the College of Podiatry.
Katy Adkins BSc (Hons) Podiatry, MChS, IIHHT, graduated from University College Northampton with a first class honours degree in Podiatry, winning the Galderma prize for ‘Best Dissertation’ and ‘Best Clinician’. She has since worked for the NHS in a number of settings in South-West London and Lincolnshire and was particularly involved in dealing with those with Diabetes. Her experience in the private sector has spanned over six years and has further diversified her knowledge and experience of lower limb problems and their treatments.
Katy has undergone post-graduate training in the use of acupuncture for common lower-limb problems and continues to build on her abilities through regular attendance of professional training courses, seminars and conferences.
Katy is also a trained Reflexologist and has been practicing this alternative therapy privately since 2002. Katy is an avid swimmer taking part in the 2010 and 2011 Great Swim series.
Sue Nourish BSc (Hons) Podiatry, MChS graduated from Northampton University with a first class honours degree in Podiatry. She has had over ten years experience working in a NHS Podiatric Surgery team, which has given her a broader appreciation of the range of treatment options available for a variety of foot conditions. She also has extensive experience in the use of more advanced local anaesthetic techniques.
As a result of her experience Sue has developed a particular interest in lower limb biomechanics, which involves the assessment of lower limb form and function. Sue uses a variety of treatments including orthoses and exercises to improve foot function and reduce symptoms.
The experience Sue has gained during her career has given her an enthusiastic approach to care, fuelling a desire to continuously expand her knowledge and skills. This means that wherever possible she can offer a variety of up-to-date treatments.
In her spare time Sue enjoys spending time with her family and as a mum appreciates the importance of looking after the whole family’s feet.
